¿Cuánto Cuesta?

If you have ever traveled to a Spanish-speaking country, and shopped at one of their typical markets, you know that things are quite different than pushing a cart down an organized and tidy grocery isle. The pungent odors, the vivid colors and the vendors vying for your attention with shouts and pleading eyes are all things that grab at your consciousness on market day. Today, in order to practice using “purchasing” vocabulary, we set up a mock market scene, and everybody went at it. Trust me, it was not a quiet class period, but I know that we had fun and got some excellent practice in at the same time!

Market Madness!

I’m Thrilled!

It’s been just under a week since we started school again here at PVCA. Already, God has truly been helping us and we have felt Him near in a special way! Everything has been going well, but I’m especially thrilled because I have 20 students combined in both of my Spanish classes! That’s incredible and I can’t wait to see what all we are going to get into this year! My prayer is that God will help us to grow, not just in knowing another language, but also spiritually, socially, etc. We strive for excellence here, and our aim is to turn out leaders that can face the challenges of this world with character! May God continue to make that so!

¡Bienvenidos!

WOW! It’s amazing to see what God’s been doing with the Spanish classes of Penn View Christian Academy! I know some of you have been keeping up with our Costa Rica trip blog, but if you haven’t visited www.spanish2010.wordpress.com and seen the pictures of the INCREDIBLE adventure we took at the beginning of June, you definitely should!

The purpose of this new blog is to serve as a hub for PVCA’s Spanish classes. From here you can not only see what is happening on a more day to day basis with the classes, but also see if there is anything else new taking place, such as trips, etc. I think you will find it informative and interesting!

Hope you stop by again soon to join us all on the Spanish journey!
